how long should a child be potty trained before trying it at the child care providers house?

- You should be consistent with your potty training, meaning that your child care provider should be working on the potty training at her house at the same time you are at home. There is a greater chance for success and less confusion for the child if there is consistency.
- I believe it is critical to be training at home and daycare at the same time. The child needs consistency to truly be potty trained. If only done at home then they are not really potty trained, they are home trained and everywhere else they what? still use the diaper. Have to do it everywhere at the same time. Good luck!!
- Actually, the moment that you start potty training the care provider should know about it and they should be as supportive and helpful as they can. most daycare centers continue the potty training with the child during the day because p.t is an ongoing thing. the child will never learn anything if you stop and start. talk to your child care provider and see what she says, try to devise a plan that is beneficial to your child and one that you both agree on.
- The childcare provider should be included in this process. It will be confusing for the child if they can only be potty trained at home. You need to discuss the potty training process with them. Let them know that you are starting potty training and have them work with you at this process. Most day care providers deal with this with all the children. The small home daycares should be willing to work with you and your child during this process.
- The childcare provider should be on this process, this is what they are being paid for, & consistency is what is needed to home free of the diapies...
You might want to get a new childcare provider if they are that lazy or busy. I've never heard of it being seperated. Try using pull ups to help with the transition.
- You should be potty training at the same time, not at different times, so that your child has a clear idea of what is expected of him or her.
