child care post

How do I collect child care expenses that my ex is ordered to pay?

My ex is court ordered to pay 50% of child care expenses. My daughter recently started preschool as a result of my employment and my ex is refusing to pay his share, claiming that he can't afford it. He is active duty in the Air Force. I can't afford to pay it all and need to collect his share ASAP. I live in California. The child support office won't collect anything other than child and spousal support, so they're no help to me when it comes to medical or child care expenses.

  1. Call child collection and have them take it direct from his paycheck.

  2. Where do you live? If in Canada and it is ordered by the courts then FRO family responsibility office should have received a copy of the order.Call them and they will start garnishing his wages.but they do take forever to enforce and you may have to involve your local MPP and your ombudsman as i have had many problems with getting FRO to enforce orders and i had to go to my ombudsman to have it dealt with.good luck!I'd give you the ombudsman website but i do not know what province you are in.
