My day care provider watches my daughter in her home. Is she self-employed or am I suppose to file the 1099?
It's tax time and my husband I deducted the $1400 we paid a friend to watch my daughter in her home. She also watched another child once a week. She's asking us to fill out a 1099 and give it her to as if we're her employer. I wa in the impression that she was running a home day care. Which is it? Advice needed fast. Thanks!

- She is the childcare provider and she is suppose to issue you a statement that tells you her name, address and social security number or EIN. She is the one who will have to fill out a Schedule C as she is self employed. No 1099 needs to be issued
