What qualifications do I need to be a director of a daycare or an asssitant director?

I am currently a teacher at a daycare, but would like to head toward being a director of a daycare, what qualifications do I need? I have a high school diploma and am in the middle of a degree to be a legal secretary. Do I need to do a childcare degree or a bachelors or other?
