- you can compare it to the existing daycare rates in your place which is about 100-130 dollars per week but i also like to add that it is very important that your daycare business is licensed, you are certified. that means knowing cpr and first aid,and passing the building codes, etc. in that way, if problems should arise, you are covered and lesser problems in the future. also you can charge your clients with what you deserve cause you are giving them services they deserve as well. go to this website for more info about setting up home daycare and other info
- Sounds like the previous individual who answered knew more specifically for your area. My advice to you was going to be to find out how much the State will reimburse for those who qualify and up it about .50/hr. In my in-home childcare/preschool, I choose not to have different rates for the different age groups. Some people say that infants are "more work" but I don't really agree. Just a different kind of work. I do have a multi-child discount, a part-time/full time rate and a preschool rate since I offer a 4 morning a week preschool program to my families (and if the child is age eligible, it's not a choice. :-)) Good luck!
- Varies from state. Most in home daycares are 25-50% cheaper than daycares. If the home is lisecned, which I highly reccommend, you should check with your local Department of CHildren and Families- they offer support (sometimes up to 80%) for low income families (they pay part of your childcare) Good luck!
