What cultural support would be helpful in child care?
For a school assignment, I am planning an environment for a child care facility and activities for toddlers and preschoolers. The cultures represented are: American Indian, Mexican and Muslim. What would specifically be important to those cultures within my child care facility? Are there dietary concerns? Religious beliefs that I should be aware of? Certain traditions and customs that would be important to consider. My goal is to have a culturally diverse environment without causing offense to any cultural groups but particularly the ones mentioned. Thank you for your help!

- pictures and books of diverse children/ people would be appropriate. just don't fall into stereotyping. make sure books and music are also diverse.
i'm native..no dietary concerns except that many of us are lactose intolerant and there is a tendency towards diabetes. just something to keep in mind. religiously....avoid decorations that are objects considered sacred in many nations such as the drum or pipe. when in doubt, ask someone from the tribal cultural center for example. we are not all the same, so again, try not to stereotype.
