child care post

What do you think is a good rate to charge parents for in home child care?

I am going to be starting an in home child care center and I am going to provide food. I want to be affordable yet also bring in an income. What do you think is a reasonable rate? Please provide three answers regarding: 1-full time M-F 6am-6pm; 2-part time; 3- hourly. Thanx so much for your input. It really helps:)

  1. Well i work at an in home daycare and i charge 2.75 for the first child and 2.50 for any other childeren they for instance if they have one child i charge 2.75 an hour but if they have three i charge 2.75 for the oldest and 2.50 for the other 2. it seems to work good for me i have good money coming in. Plus get on the food program they backpay for all of the meals you feed the kids while they are in your care. SO if you spend 50 dollars one night on food for the kids in your care the state willpay you back for it.

  2. full time I would charge $1200 a month

part time I would charge $400

    3-hourly I would charge $200

  3. It completely depends on where you live. In SF Bay Area it is very expensive and in demand. If you live in a less expensive area, you need to contact a competitor in that area and ask. Good luck
