child care post

How do I find licensed in home childcare providers?

I want to place my newborn son in a in-home licensed childcare setting. I only need 3 days a week- and commercialized day cares are too expensive for part-time care, if they are willing to do it. I live in Pa, and can't seem to find a list anywhere. I would think that the state would provide a list. Thanks

  1. craigslist.com Then go to PA and find your town. Then go to the childcare center

  2. You can contact child protective services or department of children and families. They are the state regulating agency for home childcare providers and can give you that information.

  3. well that was what I was going to suggest - try your local Chamber of Commerce - and try your Job and Family Services - they should have a list of licensed child care centers. Ours does I know.

  4. In Oregon we have Childcare Resource and Referral and it is run by Head Start. You should be able to get something from the WIC office or possibly your State Sufficiency office.

  5. dpw.state.pa.us Put Day Care in the search box. Also, childcareaware.org will link you to a local Resource and Referral Agency.
