I thinking about opening a home child care center for up to 6 children. I love children and would like to focus on about 3 or 4 to offer more personal care. Can anyone tell me the doing weekly rate where you live? I would love to hear from other providers. While I would love to do childcare I'm not sure I will be enough income to live on. I live in California (San Francisco - Bay Area) the cost of living here is among the highest in the country (if not the highest). I'm starting the process this week to become licensed
What state do you live in? Where I live childcare providers can be paid directly by the state through a sponsored program - for licensed daycares they pay around $25 per day and for unlicensed around $10 per day - with the cost of childcare being so high you could charge upwards of $200/week for infants to 3 yrs old and actually get customers.
Are you licensed? Do you have a client base?
